The Punjab girl shot a junior world record equaling score of 41 as she beat a strong field that included Paris Games gold medallists from the 25m pistol and 10m air pistol events.

Simranpreet left Paris Games 10m air pistol gold medallist Yejin Oh (4th) and 25m pistol champion Jiin Yang (5th) behind, finishing on top of the podium. Another Indian in the final, Esha Singh, finished seventh with a score of 15, while Manu Bhaker could not qualify for the 8-woman final after finishing 9th (581) in the qualification round.”This was a big match for me, and I am glad that I could shoot well and follow the process that I have been training for,” Simranpreet told TOI.In the men’s rapid fire event, Anish displayed solid composure to win silver after surviving two shoot-offs, one for 6th position and another for second.
